The curriculum adopted at Maple Bear is duly compliant with the National Educational Guidelines Act enforced by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC), on which the Canadian bilingual teaching methodology is applied.
Experienced Canadian educators design each class at Maple Bear aiming at students’ intellectual, linguistic, personal, social, and physical development. The program is inspired by four elements that are important for a thorough learning process:
Children develop competence in English as they are immersed in a continuous learning process, taking place in a relaxed school environment.
Comprehension, communication, and writing skills are developed naturally.
Starting in Intermediate Kindergarten, students also have classes in Portuguese.
Topics presented to children are theme-based and align knowledge and skills related to language, math, sciences, information technology, social studies, music, and arts.
All principles underlying Maple Bear’s programs are implemented in the classroom through best practices which have been tested and approved in Canada.
